Donate Appliances
Contact local charities such as the Red Cross, Purple Heart, Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, the Salvation Army, or women's shelters to ask if they accept used working appliances.

Find Appliances a New Owner
If your local charity doesn't accept old appliances, there may be someone in your neighborhood or community who wants it. Try using a service like www.FreeCycle.org to offer your appliance to those willing to pick it up and haul it away.

Recycle with a Retailer
If you buy a new appliance, many appliance dealers will pick-up your old appliance when they deliver your new one. Make sure the retailer participates in an appliance recycling program. It's important to prevent it from ending up in the landfill.

Heavy Trash or Junk Waste
If you have tried the above options but they do not work for you, some cities in our region offer Heavy Trash and Junk Waste pick-up once a month. Some communities also accept Heavy Trash and Junk Waste at certain drop-off sites.
