  • Buy the least hazardous product by reading product labels to determine safety.
  • Use the entire product according to the label instructions.
  • If you are not going to use all of it, find a neighbor or friend who will.
  • Do not ¡¦¡¦over-buy.¡¦¡¦ Buy only what you need and avoid creating leftover product.
  • Leftover product should be stored safely until you can drop it at a HHW drop-off site or until your community holds a HHW collection event.
  • Excess paint is the most common HHW. Determine how much paint you will need before starting a job. It will save you time and money and will prevent unnecessary waste.
